The colors gold and blue and the motto "Industry" are adopted from the Utah state flag. The beehive, a state symbol as well as the Utah Army National Guard crest, and the nickname "The Beehive State" are represented on all four designs. The sego lily and the seagull, the state flower and bird, are symbols commemorating the early history of the state.
